Children's Summer Reading Program (birth-gr.8)

Children Birth through eighth grade are encouraged to participate in the Storrs Library "Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Program. Registered children can participate all summer long by attending programs and logging reading hours in the Michael Philip Lauro II Discovery Room. Participants will have a chance to win one weekly raffle prize per week, shop at the Storrs Store and enter to win a grand prize at the end of the summer.

Come get creative with this interactive and fun 3D Printing & 3D Modeling Workshop: Make Your Name Keychain! Each attendee will learn to design a 3D model of a name keychain, then 3D print it on-site in two colors. This program will last an hour and a half and is geared for children for ages 8 and older.

Bring a blanket and lawn chair and enjoy our second outdoor movie of the summer shown on Storrs Library's front lawn. We are proud to present E. T., the Extra Terrestrial 1982. After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott. Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed to his family. Soon Elliot discovers the true meaning of friendship may be helping your friend go home. Rated PG
