Help eliminate your book fines at the Richard Salter Storrs Library by donating non-perishable food items for The Longmeadow Food Pantry! During the Month of March, $1 in fines will be waived for each food item donated, up to $5 per library card.

Please donate non-perishable food items, like cereal, oatmeal, condiments, healthy snacks, beverages, baking mixes and ingredients, fruit cups, tuna, peanut butter and crackers, pasta sauces, and personal care items.

The Longmeadow Food Pantry is very appreciative of our Food for Fines drive.

Fun with Cartoons with Michael Cady (gr. K +)

How do you come up with an idea? How do you make our cartoons more interesting? How do you draw cartoon people or animals? The answer to all these questions and more will be discovered during this fun workshop! Join Michael Cady as he shows you some of his work and guides you through the creative process! You will learn tricks and tips of the cartoon world; how to create characters, how to design and draw cartoons and cartoon characters of your own! Paper and pencils will be provided for this informative hands on workshop. All you need to bring is your imagination! Fun for Kindergarten and Older.

Story Stretchers is an advanced Early Literacy Class designed to increase independence at the Library and promote learning through books. Children read together, play more advanced literacy games and make a crafty art project. Children attend class on their own.

Parent & Tot is an introductory Early Literacy Class designed to increase children's comfort level with books and the written word. Children listen to stories, sing active songs and finger plays, get up for active dances, and work on fine motor skills with an age-appropriate art project. Class ends with the Clean-Up Train followed by the Rainbow Song. Children attend class with a caregiver.
