Scout Open House (Gr. K+)

Join the local Scouts for an Open House from 6:00PM-7:30 PM on the Library Lawn (in case of rain, event will be in the Discovery Room).  Boys and girls can try their hand at stowing camping gear, erecting a tent, making trail mix and tying a proper knot.  Information on Family Scouting (for girls and boys in grades K-5) and Cub Scouts (grades 6+) will be available.  Stop by and learn more about the scouting adventure!

An intermediate Early Literacy Class for kindergartners and first graders designed to increase independence at the library and promote learning through books. Children read together, play games, and make an art project. Children attend class on their own.

An introductory Early Literacy Class designed to increase children’s comfort level with books and the written word. Children listen to stories, sing active songs and finger plays, get up for active dances, and make an art project. Class ends with the Clean-Up Train followed by the Rainbow Song. Children attend with a parent or caregiver.
Registration is for the Fall session, which ends in December.

Movement Across Milestones

Children from birth to fifteen months, with their caregivers, are invited to join Physical Therapist Lisa Erickson in Movement Across Milestones. This four week program will focus on motor development education, with suggestions for caregivers to promote typical motor development. Caregivers will also receive ideas on floor time play, while children engage in social games.

Children attend the first half of the program alone, then are joined by a parent or caregiver to help with the art project.

Join us at Storrs Library for a family friendly Fall-themed Origami session, as we learn how to fold a Maple Leaf. This program is led by a local team of Origami experts. Friends under seven will need help from a caregiver.
