Story Time (ages 3-5) is a transitional Early Literacy Class designed to continue children’s comfort level with books and promote independence at the Library.
Children listen to stories, sing, play active and literacy games, and continue to work on appropriate behavior.

Children attend the first half of the program alone, then are joined by a caregiver to assist with the art project.

Thursdays 10:15-11:15 or 1:00-2:00.

Parent & Tot (ages 24-36 months) is an introductory Early Literacy Class designed to increase children’s comfort level with books and the written word.
Children listen to stories, sing active songs and finger plays, get up for active dances, and work on fine motor skills with an age-appropriate art project.

Class ends with the Clean-Up Train followed by the Rainbow Song. Children attend class with a caregiver.

Wednesdays 10:00-10:45 or 11:00-11:45.
Story Stretchers (ages 5-7) is an advanced Early Literacy Class designed to increase independence at the Library and promote learning through books.
Children read together, play more advanced literacy games and make a crafty art project. Children attend class on their own.

Tuesdays or Wednesdays 3:15-4:15.

Community Comfort Quilt Tying

Join us for a day of community quilt making! In the spirit of caring and sharing, all ages and levels of sewers are welcome to attend! On Saturday, November 17th we will assemble the quilt. If you don't want to or can't sew, stop by to join in the joy of this event. The quilts will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Registration is limited to 15 quilters.

The Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at Storrs Library will host the Page Partners Book Group on Tuesday evening, December 4, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This fun-filled discussion group is open to students in grades 6 to 8, with an adult reading partner. This group meets monthly. Feel free to come in and express your ideas. Activities include discussion, snacks, and an art project! Come in to pick up a copy of the book and sign up at 565-4182. Our monthly selection is Bubbles by Abby Cooper.
