The Storrs Summer Reading Program is back in person and just like you remember it as a kid! Teens can register online at www.longmeadowlibrary.org and then stop by the library to pick up a paper reading log.

Reading Logs:

When teens check in reading logs for the first time in the Discovery Room, they will receive a Fast Code (in lieu of writing out contact information).

Readers can write their name on their favorite way to be creative in the teen area upstairs.

How to Participate:

Students entering grades 7-12 are going to log the time they spend reading over the summer.  Audiobooks, video recorded books, and podcasts definitely count!

For every 1 hour read, teens receive 1 DISCOVERY DOLLAR, which can be used to enter our weekly and grand prize raffles, or at the Storrs Store to purchase prizes.

For every 5 hours read (every time a yellow line is completed on the reading log):

Readers stamp once next to their name on their favorite way to be creative in the teen area upstairs.

For every program attended teens can ask for a DISCOVERY TICKET, which can be used to enter our weekly and grand prize raffles (Discovery Tickets cannot be used at the Storrs Store). In the spirit of fair play, teens can win 1 raffle prize per week.

The 2023 Statewide Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Storrs Library, The Massachusetts Regional Library System, the Boston Bruins, & the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
